How to use the Keyword Density Checker
- 1
Paste your text and, optionally, a target keyword.
- 2
Review the top words and phrases for repetition.
- 3
Rewrite anything that reads forced, and add related terms you're missing.
Density isn't a ranking factor
There's no ideal keyword density. Google ranks pages that answer the search well, using the words people naturally use. The real value of a density check is catching repetition that reads as spam, and seeing which related terms are missing.
What to look for
Use the phrase lists to check coverage:
- Your main keyword in the title, H1 and first paragraph
- Related terms and synonyms across the page
- No single phrase repeated so often it reads forced
- Questions your customers actually ask
Frequently asked questions
What is a good keyword density?
There isn't one. Write naturally; if a phrase stands out when you read the page aloud, it's overused.
Does it count phrases?
Yes, it shows the most common two and three-word phrases as well as single words.
Are common words ignored?
Yes. Words like "the" and "and" are left out of the top lists.
Is my text stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
