LinkedIn Text Formatter

LinkedIn and Instagram don't have a bold button. Type your post, style a few words in bold or italic, add clean bullets and copy text that keeps its formatting when you paste it.

Most local businesses lose calls to one setting. Select a few words and press Bold to make them stand out. Keep the rest plain so it stays easy to read.

Styled letters are special Unicode characters. Screen readers may read them oddly and platform search won't find them, so style only a few words.

Your inputs are saved in this browser only, so they're here when you come back.

How to use the LinkedIn Text Formatter (Bold & Italic)

  1. 1

    Write or paste your post.

  2. 2

Select a few words and click Bold or Italic, or style a whole line.

  3. 3

Copy the result and paste it into LinkedIn, Instagram or X.

How it works

The formatter swaps normal letters for look-alike Unicode characters (mathematical bold and italic letters). Platforms display them as styled text because they're different characters, not formatting.

Use it sparingly

Styled Unicode has trade-offs, so keep it for emphasis:

  • Screen readers may read styled letters oddly or skip them
  • Styled words aren't found by platform search
  • Use bold for a hook or a few key words, never whole posts
  • Bullets (β€’, β†’, βœ“) are plain symbols and safe to use freely

Frequently asked questions

Can you bold text on LinkedIn?

Not natively. Unicode bold characters are the common workaround, and they paste in as bold.

Does Unicode text hurt reach?

There's no evidence it hurts reach, but it can hurt accessibility and searchability, so use it lightly.

Will it work on Instagram and X?

Yes. Styled Unicode works in most apps that accept text, including bios.

Is my text stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
